[www.inewsguyana.com] – A sexually frustrated man was remanded to prison for hitting his girlfriend on her vagina with a piece of iron, after she refuses to have sexual intercourse with him.
Before Magistrate Ann McLennan, Shawn Peters, a 35-year-old labourer of Albouystown pleaded not guilty to the charge, which alleged that on April 13 at Charlotte Street, Georgetown, he unlawfully assaulted the woman.
He also denied another offence, which alleged that on the same day, he made use of threatening behaviour to the same virtual complainant (VC).
Police Prosecutor Dinero Jones told the Court that on the day in question, the defendant went to the VC’s home and demanded to have sexual intercourse. Jones said the victim told Peters that she was on her menstrual cycle and cannot engage in such activities at the time.
According to the Prosecutor, the defendant became annoyed and dealt her several lashes to her vagina with an iron.
The Prosecutor successfully objected to bail citing the seriousness of the offence and fact that the accused tampered with the witness. Bail was refused and the case was put off to May 20.
