[www.inewsguyana.com] – The police in Berbice, Region 6 might have foiled a robbery when they encountered a vehicle with three occupants during patrol duties on Sunday, July 12.
According to the police, at about 12:10 hrs, ranks of a police mobile patrol conducted a search on a motor car at Sheet Anchor Village, East Canje, Berbice, in which they found an unlicensed .22 Beretta Pistol with one round.
Three men who were in the vehicle have been arrested and are in police custody assisting with the investigations.
The police also confirmed that one of the men arrested is presently before the court on five counts of robbery under arms for which he is on bail.
The police are expected to test the weapon to see if it was used in any crime related activities.
