[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 46 – year – old man was on Friday (November 22) fined $30,000 for stealing two pieces of wood, when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
Terry Thompson pleaded guilty to the charge which detailed that on Tuesday, November 19 at Ruimveldt Police Station Compound, Georgetown he stole two pieces of wood valued $2,300, property of Lloyd Tyrell.
The defendant begged the court to be lenient with him. He claimed that he took the wood to cook, since he has no stove.
