Twenty – Seven – year old Omadat Persaud also known as ‘Vicky’ of Supply, Mahaica East Coast Demerara was killed last night [Monday July 8] during an armed robbery at his home.
Police stated that the incident occurred around 20:30h when three men stormed the residence. According to the Police, two of them were armed.
Investigations revealed that Yogendra Naipaul, 38 years, his wife Omadai Naipaul, 38 years, and their son and daughter were outside of the home when they were confronted by the armed men.
Police stated that the perpetrators took them into building where they also held up Omadat Persaud, who was shot to his head in the process.
The armed men took away a quantity of jewellery and a sum of US currency and escaped. Investigations are in progress.
