The Mabaruma man who earlier this week allegedly stabbed and killed his friend during a drinking spree was today (Wednesday) arraigned at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts for the offence.

Junior Abrams called ‘Black boy’, 23 was not allowed to plead to the capital offence.

It is being alleged that he unlawfully killed Elroy Marks on July 14, 2018 at Kumaka Waterfront, Mabaruma, North West District (NWD).

He was remanded to prison to next appear at the Mabaruma Magistrates’ Court on August 10.

Based on reports received, the now dead man and Abrams were consuming alcohol at a popular shop at Kumaka Waterfront, Mabaruma when an argument broke out between them. This quickly escalated into a fight during which the suspect armed himself with a broken beer bottle and dealt Marks a stab wound to the left side neck.

Marks was picked up and taken to the Mabaruma Hospital where he was seen by a doctor and admitted a patient. However, Marks died while undergoing an emergency surgery.
