[www.inewsguyana.com]Thirty- eight – year-old Gavin Roach of Lot 44 Norton Street, Georgetown, was today ordered by Magistrate Geeta Chandan-Edmond to perform 50 hours of community service for the offence of littering.

He pleaded guilty to the charge, which noted that on February 14 at America Street, Georgetown, he deposited waste.

City Constabulary Corporal James Garnett, prosecuting, told the Court that the defendant deposited a brown carton box containing a quantity of food boxes, drinks and beer bottles.

Roach was ordered to perform two hours per day community service, excluding Sundays and national holidays with a default of seven days imprisonment.
