Lindener busted with Marijuana at CJIA fined $3000

[] – A 24- year – old man of 604 Half Mile, Wismar Linden, was today convicted on a narcotics charge by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.

Marvin Wilson was fined $3,000 with an alternative of three weeks imprisonment.

He pleaded guilty to the charge, particulars of which alleged that on Thursday, June 26 at Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA), Timehri he had in his possession .5 gram of cannabis-sativa (marijuana).

Custom Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU), Prosecutor Oswald Massiah, told the Court that facts are as charged.

Wilson was represented by Attorney-at-Law Gordon Gilhuys, who asked that his Client be placed on a monetary fine instead of a custodial penalty.

He was an outgoing passenger on Caribbean Airlines flight BW526 en-route to JFK New York.
