Lindener accused of narco trafficking remanded

A man who hails from Amelia’s Ward in Mackenzie, Linden, was remanded to prison last week after being charged for being in possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.

The accused Carl Simmons, 28, a mechanic of Lot 6062 Amelia’s Ward was allegedly caught with 463 grammes of cannabis sativa in his possession, at Oronoque Drive, Retrieve, Mackenzie, on January 1.

Simmons pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him by Magistrate Clive Nurse at the Linden Magistrate’s Court.

The court heard that the accused has previous brushes with the law. The case will continue on March 1.
