Linden miner murdered in row over water pump

Police say they are investigating the murder of Carlos Wong, 46, a miner, of Half Mile Wismar, Linden which occurred about 09:00hrs on Friday at Omai Landing, Essequibo River, allegedly by two males who officers say have not yet been apprehended.

While details are sketchy, a release from Police Public Relations and Press Officer, Superintendent, Jairam Ramlakhan mentioned that the victim and the suspects had a misunderstanding over a water pump, when one of the suspects who was armed with a cutlass reportedly chopped the victim on his right hand.
The chop wound resulted in Wong’s death.
