Linden miner charged with co-worker’s stabbing-death

[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 38 – year – old miner was today (January 07) remanded to prison on a murder charge when he appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

Reynard Romaine of Linden made his appearance before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry and was not required to plea to the indictable offence.

Particulars of the charge detailed that on January 02, 2015 at Frenchman, Upper Demerara River, Romaine murdered 41-year-old Seibert Moore.

Romaine was unrepresented and no details into the incident were presented by Police Prosecutor, Michael Grant. The case was transferred and is set to be called on January 13 at the Linden Magistrates’ Court.

The police, in a release, had said that at about 14:45hrs that day Moore, a resident of Victory Valley, Wismar, was involved in an altercation with Maison at Frenchman during which he was stabbed to his body.

Moore was pronounced dead on arrival at the Mackenzie Hospital.
