[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 22 – year – old labourer of Leguan Island was fined $3,000 and ordered to perform six months community service for possession of narcotics.
Before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, Rameshwar Dhanpaul pleaded guilty to the charge which alleged that on Saturday, January 4 at Leguan Island, he had in his possession two grams of cannabis sativa (marijuana).
No facts were read in Court and the defendant will report to the subordinate officer at Leguan Police Station commencing January 11.
