A man is in critical condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital after he was allegedly stabbed by a teenager at Capoey, Essequibo Coast.
Reports are Tedd De Young called Kadir, 48, was stabbed at about 23:00h on Sunday by a 15-year-old and was rushed to the Suddie Hospital but was transferred to the GPH for emergency medical treatment.
According to reports, the victim’s son, Earlan De Young, said he heard someone screaming and upon investigating found his father lying motionless on his tummy with a wound to the left side of his head.
The labourer was picked up in an unconscious state and taken to Suddie Hospital.
While details of the stabbing are sketchy, INews was told that villagers had seen the suspect and the injured man in a vehicle together earlier in the day.
The suspect has been taken into Police custody and is assisting with investigations.
