Justice is one step closer to being served in the case of Indrawattie Somwar called ‘Sharda’ whose husband has reportedly confessed to brutally hacking her to death at their Corriverton, Berbice residence last Tuesday afternoon.
A source close to the investigation has told INews that Bandu provided a detailed confession to the Police after he was being grilled in connection with the murder.
According to reports, the woman and her husband, Navindra Bandu, a.k.a “Birdie” were having a heated argument on the day in question about financial issues when the man picked up a cutlass and dealt several chops to his wife’s head and body, in full view of their two children.
The 39-year-old woman tried to escape by running out of their house and into the yard; however, as she got close to the gate, she collapsed. The murder is said to have taken place between 16:30h and 17:00h.
Somwar’s body is presently at the Skeldon Hospital mortuary awaiting a Post Mortem Examination (PME) which is expected to be performed tomorrow.
