Hunt on for two inmates who escaped from Lusignan prison

Prison officials are on the hunt for two inmates of the Lusignan Prison who escaped at about 10:30 hrs yesterday (Monday).
The two men are Rajendra Deonarine, 22, of Richmond Housing Scheme, Essequibo; and Faos Shakir, 26, of Le Ressouvenir, East Coast Demerara.
INews understands Deonarine was serving a two-year sentence for possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking, while Shakir was sentenced to three years for several robbery offences.
Director of Prisons, Carl Graham, on Monday said the men were clearing overgrown vegetation from the prison when they escaped.
