Henrietta Youth killed in Essequibo Coast accident

A 23-year-old man was Sunday evening killed in a two-vehicle collision along the Lima Public Road, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam).

The accident occurred at about 19:30h.

Jamol Granville called “Juju”, a father of one, of Henrietta, Essequibo Coast, was driving a motorcar bearing registration number PYY 4645, and was negotiating a turn when he crashed head-on into a canter, GVV 8523, that was proceeding in the opposite direction.

As a result of the impact, Granville was reportedly pinned in the car and died instantly.
Firefighters were called to the scene to assist in removing Granville’s body from the wreckage. His body was transported to the Suddie Public Hospital Mortuary awaiting a post-mortem.

The driver of the canter is said to be seriously injured and is receiving medical attention.
