police awards[www.inewsguyana.com] – Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Donald Ramotar has confirmed that he is not yet in possession of any list bearing the names of police officers for promotion.

Speaking with iNews on Tuesday afternoon via telephone, the Head of State said that he has received no word from the Police Service Commission (PSC) on the issue.

Police officers at the level of Sergeants and upwards have been very anxious about the promotions which have not taken place in three years due to the absence of the Police Service Commission.

President Ramotar swore in the members of the Commission on September 04, 2014. iNews understands that the list of promotions are still with the PSC.

It is the hope that the list will be sent to the President today, Wednesday December 31. Sources indicated that there are close to one hundred persons who were nominated by the Police Force for promotion.
