Quick response by fire fighters at the Guyana Sugar Corporations’s (GuySuCo’s) Albion/Port Mourant Estate guest house resulted in the majority of the building being saved from a disastrous fire on Wednesday morning.
Fire Chief, Marlon Gentle confirmed that reports of the fire were made shortly after 05:00hrs on Wednesday morning.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined but Inews understands that only a section of the guest house and the senior staff club attached to the large building was damaged by the sudden blaze.
This online publication was also informed that the building was used for an event last evening.
An investigation has been launched.
