Guyanese fishermen in Suriname waters missing after incident

Five Guyanese fishermen, who were fishing off the coast of Suriname, fell overboard after their boat was destroyed in what authorities and media reports are saying was a storm.

Based on information reaching this publication, three of the men, identified as Andrew Beaton, Rondell Vanderstoop and his sibling Norris Vanderstoop, are missing while the other two crew members, Steve Mc Bean and Rodwell Captain were rescued.

It was outlined that checks are being made by the Suriname Coast Guard, among others, for the missing men.

All of the men reside in Corentyne, Berbice.
