Gun – toting driver arrested after threatening to shoot cops

– On Sunday evening a party of policemen from the Kitty Police Station in Georgetown was forced to scamper for cover when an apparent intoxicated 23 – year – old man whipped out a gun and pointed it in their direction.

iNews was informed that the police approached the vehicle that Daryl John of Thomas Street, North Cummingsburg was driving and attempted to carry out a search when the incident took place.

As the ranks rolled up to the vehicle the man pulled the weapon, pointed it at the ranks and then speed away before reportedly threatening to shoot one of them.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that John is related to an individual who is well known in the around the capital.

As the young man drove off, the police summoned a patrol which was nearby and they managed to corner him after which he escorted to the Brickdam Police Station.

While there, police carried out a search on the man and the vehicle.

Ranks recovered a .32 pistol with several matching rounds along with other caliber of ammunition.

The vehicle (PRR 7001) is in police custody and investigators are conducting an inquiry into the matter.

The young man is not licensed to carry a firearm based on information iNews received.
