With the 3rd Youth Olympic Games scheduled for Buenos Aries Argentina in the summer of 2018 coming into focus, the Junior international calendar of events for eligible players will become heightened with a number of activities as eligible world table tennis players seek qualification in the various continental championships and Junior circuit events.
One such championships for players in the Latin American region is the Latin America continental qualification event for the 3rd Youth Olympic Games scheduled for the 12th-14th May in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
In this regard, the GTTA has named National Table Tennis star; Miguel Wong, as its prospect for possible qualification. The association has also submitted his name to the Guyana Olympic Association (GOA) to be forwarded to the International Olympic Committee for consideration as a possible candidate/prospect for Universality Allocated Place/Position.
There are other events on the road to qualification to the Youth Olympic Games Which includes participation in junior circuit events “Road to Buenos Aires”, gaining favourable World ranking through participation in junior circuit events, selection for Universality Place Allocation or through continental qualification. The continental qualification is a compulsory event.
The association noted that it had another prospect that it feels would have represented a great investment in the likes of Nickolus Romain; unfortunately only one nominee is allowed.
