GTT launches ‘Innov8 Summit’ for tech enthusiasts

The Guyana Telephone Telegraph (GTT) company earlier today (Monday) launched the ‘Innov8 Technology Summit’- the first and largest of its kind in Guyana- which is expected to be held on March 24, 25 and 27 at the Guyana Marriott Hotel.

The project, which is being held in collaboration with STEM Guyana (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), has seen a contribution of $18M into the Innov8 Fund by GTT, in order to boost its continued work of training youths in coding and robotics.

Part One of the Innov8 Summit- Technology Expo will be held on March 24-25. Organisers say the event promises a diverse display of technology, innovations and gadgets created by local and international companies through hands-on robotics, online gaming, a gaming tournament, animation, smart gadgets, a smart home and much more.

Part Two – The Business Forum – which is slated for March 27, will see the featuring of major international speakers from Microsoft, Google and other industry trail blazers.

According to GTT, the goal of both events is to showcase the diversity of technology and its impact on all spheres of life in Guyana.

“GTT’s on-going investment in technology and leadership is instrumental in the development of the Guyanese ICT (Information, Communication and Technology) sector and has created a platform for innovators to power their innovations,” Chief Executive Officer of GTT, Justin Nedd said.

The event is free to the public and tickets are available on GTT’s new paperless ticket portal called GTT Tix to Go which was introduced to Guyana for the first time at the press conference.  (Ramona Luthi)
