GT&T gifts Karate College $200,000 for South American Championships Hosting

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Communications Giants, the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph company has come on board for the hosting of the International Karate Diagaku South American Cup.

During a handing over ceremony on Friday, March 14 President of the Guyana Karate College, Shaun McGrath collected the sum of $200,000 to offset expenses for the tournament.

The G.K.C. which is the organizing body of the tournament has indicated that they are looking to host the tournament at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall from March 29-30.

Speaking to iNews Sport (www.inewsguyana.com), the G.K.C. President confirmed that preparations are coming along ‘nicely’ ahead of the continental competition.

According to McGrath, they are expecting participation from Venezuela, Suriname and French Guiana thus far.The tournament is expected to be graced by International Karate Daigaku Sensei Frank Woon-A-Tai 9th Dan.
