Granger, Chinese Ambassador discuss Chinese investments, other issues

[www.inewsguyana.com] – China’s Ambassador to Guyana, Zhang Limin paid a courtesy call on Leader of the Opposition, David Granger on Wednesday, September 03, where the Chinese Ambassador recalled the long history of friendship between the Communist Party of China and the People’s National Congress.

According to a press statement from the Office of the Opposition Leader, the Ambassador congratulated Granger on his recent election as Leader of the PNCR.

Granger was accompanied by Parliamentarian, Ronald Bulkan and Mark Archer, Communications Director, Office of the Leader of the Opposition.

“The two sides discussed a number of issues of mutual interest, these included; Guyana China relations; APNU support for a no confidence motion against the Peoples Progressive Party Civic administration; early elections, Chinese direct investments in Guyana and the conduct of Chinese companies operating in Guyana,” the statement noted.

Other matters relating to the lack of good governance, the escalation of crime and the refusal of the PPPC administration to hold local government elections were also discussed.

  1. granger better be careful. he’d butter go and get an ok from afc before they go to his supporters and tell them that granger is selling out to the Chinese and Chinese companies. he will lose a lot of support like he did at linden.
