GPF unearths 21,000 kilos of marijuana on 8 acres of land

marijuanaRanks of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) on Friday last conducted a 12 hours long Drug Eradication exercise at Gateroy, Upper Berbice River, during which four fields measuring about 8 acres were found cultivated with Cannabis Sativa.
According to the police within the four fields, they unearthed an estimated 10, 000 plants measuring between 2-6 feet in height and with a weight of approximately 21000 kilograms.
 
The cultivations along with a 15×20 camp were reportedly photographed and destroyed by fire.
No persons have been arrested in connection with the drugs as yet, but the Police say efforts are being made to trace and apprehend the owner or owners of the land with a view of instituting charges.

  1. Aw shucks!….. Berbice has long become the drug source…..good maiden Agriculture land.
    There are special mini-buses and taxis that do the run. Check out those trails through Ebini and on to Linden.
