[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Guyana Police Force (GPF) congratulated its recruits for their performance at the Pan Caribbean Martial Arts Championship, held on Saturday [August 23] at the National Gymnasium.

The GPF training officer, Senior Superintendent Paul Williams gained the full support of the administration as they reintroduced self-defence classes that were absent for three decades under the tutelage of Sensies Troy Bobb, Paul Ignatius and Annand Mahadeo.

Meanwhile, at the championship, first place positions went to Sensies Bobb (Kata), Ignatius (self defence and kata), constables 22377 Peters (self defence) and W.22510 McDonald (sparring).

The second place winners were Sensie Ignatius (weapons), constables 22380 Simon (self defence), W.22499 Thomas (sparring) and 22524 Hercules (sparring) while the only third position went to constable 22498 (sparring).

Senior Superintendent Paul Williams along with Sensies Troy Bobb, Paul Ignatius and Anand Mahadeo were proud of the overall team performance.
