Gov’t looking for early 2016 Budget

[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Government of Guyana is considering the possibility of presenting the 2016 Fiscal Budget as early as January 2016.

Minister of State, Joseph Harmon on Friday, November 20 told reporters that Finance Minister, Winston Jordan has already given the indication that Budget 2016 will see an early presentation.

“We are looking at an early budge in 2016 – I can’t say whether it January or February or March…the Minister of Finance has already given the indication that he budget will be very early in 2016,” Harmon told reporters.

Fiscal budgets are usually presented in March/April; however due to General Elections, the 2015 Budget was presented on August 10.

Jordan had presented a $221B Budget to the National Assembly for the 2015 fiscal year under the theme “A Fresh Approach To A Good Life In A Green Economy” – the first fiscal budget for the APNU+AFC administration.

  1. I believe,an early 2016 budget will be a plus for this Coalition government.Concentrate on your priorities,set them right and you`ll be in for a bumper year.You have the intelligence and vision to make this happen.

Any budget should have a recognition to family size hence it should cater to have reflected relieve for families base on size to take care of their needs which will be different from each other, such as food , clothing, shelter and schooling. No family of three should pay paye on earnings below 100,000 per month, An educated Nation reduces the expenses to take care of the uneducated one hence invest in the homes and families to have them educated.

  3. What a shames for a theme”a fresh approach to a good life in a green economy” only the Ministers can say that they are having these.
