Goals continue to flow in Busta Soft Shoe tournament

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Festival City put on a show on Sunday evening at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground to defeat Leopold Street 8-2 when action continued in the inaugural Busta Soft Shoe Tournament.

Carl Lockhart (27th and 28th) and Eon Alleyne in the 29th and 30th minutes led the way for Festival City with doubles while Solomon Austin, Stellon David, Dwayne Lawrence and Daniel Favourite scored a goal apiece in the first, third, 10th and 23rd minutes respectively.

Leopold goals came from Jumane Somerset in the sixth minute and Andre Sookhoo in the 28th minute.

Ballers topped Broad Street 4-2 in the fourth game of the night with Steffon ramsay leading the way with a aht-trick in the fifth, 25th and 27th minutes. Amos Ramsay was the other scorer in the 21st minute.

Miguel Cummings and Jamal Cozier provided Broad Street with their two goals in the 14th and 19th minutes respectively.

Meanwhile, in total contrast Kitty Weavers snuck by Tucville 1-0 with Sherwin Vincent scoring the game’s lone goal in the 26th minute.

Game three of the evening saw West Back Road topping Globe Yard 4-1 to easily gain points in their group.

Phillip Rowley led the way with a double in the fourth and 11th minutes while Joel Tyrell and Jamal Haynes scored the other two goals in the fifth and 21st minutes. Globe Yard’s lone goal came from Ademi Hoyte in the 16th minute.

Stevedore Housing Scheme were able to top Cross Street 2-nil despite a number of defensive woes on their part coupled with Cross Street misfiring on easy opportunities. Mark Campbell scored both goals for Stevedore in the 14th and 23rd minutes.

In the final game of the evening, Bent Street trounced Albouystown 4-0 as Daniel Wilson scored a double in the 21st and 24th minutes while Konata Manning and Sheldon Holder scored the other goals in the 22nd and 26th minutes respectively.
