Giftland 1[www.inewsguyana.com] – Giftland Office Max today [Sunday, August 24] donated over $200,000 worth of school supplies to the children of the Tiger Bay community, which will benefit some 250 children.

Public Relations Officer of the Company, Christel Vansluytman said Giftland has been giving back to the children for over five years in a number of other ways.

The children were given school bags and stationery supplies for the new academic year which will start on September 1.

“Giftland has been doing this for the past five years because of our interest in the education sector and we know a lot of people have challenges finding back to school supplies for the kids and especially in the Tiger Bay area where it is harder to get certain things so Giftland has stepped in hands on to provide all the necessary things and the packages that we give to each of these children so that they can have a chance to an education and they can go back to school,” Vansluytman told iNews.

Meanwhile, Tiger Bay’s Community Leader, Tresceline Rossan in expressing gratitude to the Company said this initiative has touched the lives of many of the children who are better prepared with school supplies for the new school year.

iNews also spoke with some parents who expressed their appreciation to the Company. Most of the mothers in that community are single parents and are struggling to make ends meet. [Tracey Khan – Drakes]
