An employee attached to the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission (GGMC) was this morning found with his throat slashed and a knife stuck to his abdomen in his Blueberry Hill, Wismar home.

The dead man has been identified as 49-year-old Dillon Stellingbury. The man’s body was discovered by a friend who went to check on him since he was not seen for several days.

The father of two worked as a surveyor and would travel to various interior locations. It is believed that the man was murdered during a robbery since his home was broken into several times while he was away.

The police have launched an investigation into the murder. No one was arrested, so far.
