GDF officers presented with instruments of commission and state warrants

[www.inewsguyana.com] –The Guyana Defence Force (GDF) presented 15 newly promoted officers with their instruments of commission while nine others were presented with their state warrants before Commander –in-Chief of the armed forces, President Donald Ramotar and Chief –of-Staff of the of the GDF Brigadier, Mark Phillips.

At the ceremony held at the Office of the President on Thursday, February 12, the 15 newly serving members of the Force were urged to discharge their functions effectively without fear or favour.

Among the officers was a lone female rank who managed to successfully complete the training to gain her promotion, while another officer successfully completed his cadet course in Brazil and returned to be promoted.

They were urged to discharge their functions effectively without fear or favour.

The officers were also reminded that their promotion was a clear indication of the Force’s confidence in their ability to discharge their functions to the best of their ability and they were tasked with upholding the constitution.

The Commissioned officers will now be deployed to various GDF locations across the country.
