Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Donald Ramotar has approved the promotion Chief-of-Staff, Commodore Gary Best to the rank of Rear Admiral.
This is according to the Government Information Agency (GINA), which noted that the swearing in ceremony will take place on Monday, August 18 at the Office of the President.
A Rear Admiral is a naval commissioned officer rank above that of a Commodore.
