Andre Hetsberger, a 46-year-old former television cameraman for Evening News, was today found guilty by a 12-member jury of raping a 13-year-old girl.
The jury returned a unanimous verdict in the trial before Justice Navindra Singh.
Hetsberger is accused of ‘sexually penetrating’ the 13-year-old girl – his niece – on October 17, 2014.
In January 2015, Hetsberger was charged for the offence before Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and was released on $300,000 bail.
According to reports, on October 17, 2014, he engaged in ‘digital penetration’ (finger) with his wife’s 13-year-old niece. He was also accused of forcing the child to engage in fellatio with him. Andre maintained his innocence throughout the trial.
The State was represented by Attorneys Narissa Leander, Michael Shahoud and Siand Dhurjon.

I hope this young lady receives love and support from her family and friends. Remember she is the victim. That sad memory lives on forever . These rapist needs Physiological help while in jail, so upon their release they wont repeat the same offence.
