[www.inewsguyana.com] – Former member of the Guyana Defence Force (GDF), Gary McPherson was today remanded to prison for the offence of simple larceny.
The 23 – year – old was charged jointly with 20 – year-old Ryan Goodluck of 52 Sherriff Street, Georgetown. They both pleaded not guilty to the charge before Magistrate Ann McLennan.
Particulars of the charge stated that on August 5 at Vlissingen Road, Georgetown, they stole from Keith Hecker one Swiss motorcycle CF 786 valued $300,000.
The Court heard that the virtual complainant (VC) went to purchase chicken at Popeye’s and forgot his motorcycle keys in the bike when he saw the two accused riding away with his bike.
Hecker joined a minibus and tried to follow the duo. However, the matter was reported to the Police and they were arrested by ranks on patrol duty.
Police Prosecutor Dinero Jones told the Court that the motorcycle was not recovered and both men were positively identified by the VC.
They are scheduled to reappear in Court on September 5.
