Football Coach remanded on marijuana charge

[www.inewsguyana.com] – A Coach attached to the Agricola Red Triangle Football team was remanded to prison on Wednesday, December 02, 2015 after he appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan charged with possession of narcotics.

Colin John, 35, a food vendor of 183 Eccles, East Bank Demerara entered a not guilty plea to the charge which read that on November 29 he was caught with 21 grams of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.

Prosecutor Deniro Jones told the Court that on the day in question, the Police stopped a car that the accused was occupying and conducted a search. The substance was found in the passenger side seat and the accused was arrested and charged.

He was remanded to prison and will make his second appearance on January 04.
