[www.inewsguyana.com] – As the clock winds down, top names in the motor racing arena from Jamaica, Barbados, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Canada and the USA are gearing up for the Caribbean Motor Racing Championship at the South Dakota Circuit today Sunday November 24, 2013.

Among the top competitors is Nikyta Ramsaran, a New York based Guyanese who is sponsored by several companies.

Ramsaran in an interview with the media, at the South Dakota Circuit said that he was pleased to be given the opportunity to return home, courtesy of Fly-Jamaica to compete in the championship.

“I am indeed honoured to have the logos of all my sponsors on my car including Fly-Jamaica, Andrew Arts, Atlantic Car Care, Isra Properties (Guyana and New York), Sleep Inn International Hotel and Jailing Motorcycles…and come Sunday, I will put out my best to ensure my sponsors are all represented in the Caribbean Motor Racing Championship,” Ramsaran said.

Sunday’s event, he said promises to be a day of thrills, and as such Guyanese are being encouraged to take time off from their  busy schedule, to enjoy a much deserved break and converge at South Dakota to witness some of the best names in the racing world battle for supremacy.

Humble but yet excited, Ramsaran said he feels privileged to compete with cream of the crop in Guyana, the Caribbean and North America.

“ Not only am I privileged to compete among the top names, but even more so right at home, a place that will always remain close to my heart,” Ramsaran explained .

Confident about Sunday’s win, he said Guyana will dominate at the Championship.

“Guyana is now more than ever ready and prepared for these types of sport…I must say Guyana has transformed and with Fly-Jamaica now serving Guyana, Guyanese living abroad should take hold of  the opportunity to come home…come home for races, just come  home and enjoy Guyana at its best,” Ramsaran urged.

Fly Jamaica’s Representative Susan Razack who was also present at the media briefing said that the airline was honoured to sponsor Ramsaran. The carrier, she said is committed to working with the local authorities in promoting destination Guyana and as such continues to look at ways to meet the needs of their passengers .

With the airline, now serving the Guyana-New York route via Kingston, Jamaica more Guyanese are being encouraged to travel home more frequently due to its price structure.

Fans, she said would be given the opportunity to win 2 return tickets to New York and Jamaica.
