Fisherman chopped after objecting to fondling of 13-Y-O

crime-scene[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 26-year-old fisherman of Walton Hall, Essequibo Coast was chopped under his right arm and on his buttocks by another fisherman while returning from sea some three days ago.

 According to the fisherman Parmeshwar Singh, he was returning with other workers after spending several days at sea when the incident occurred in the Pomeroon River.

He said the captain of the boat stopped at a private stelling and everything was going well until he observed the Captain of the boat tugging at the legs of a 13-year-old girl.

Singh said when they returned to the boat and left for Charity he spoke to the Captain and advised him not to do such things because he has a wife, children and he must conduct himself properly.

 Singh claimed that boat Captain got angry, grabbed a knife and slashed him across under his right arm and stabbed him on his buttocks. He said the chop under his arm receive to get seventeen stitches.

He said the matter was reported to the Police. However, a settlement was agreed upon between himself and the Captain for a sum of $150,000
