The Guyana Fire Service (GFS) was called in the investigate after persons complained of smelling something burning at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre – the venue where the recount of votes is ongoing.

Public Relations Officer of the Guyana Elections Commission Yolanda Ward told the media that there was a “burning smell” and as such the Fire Service was called in.

INews understands that there is no fire at the location.
