Fire destroys three houses, almost a dozen homeless


24909133_BG1[] – A ravaging, early morning blaze has destroyed three houses at Sister’s Village, West Bank Demerara, a Senior Fire Official has confirmed.

Unconfirmed reports are that the fire which sparked just after midnight has left at least 10 persons, including children homeless.

The three wooden houses, which are said to be closely aligned, were gutted within minutes and others partly scorched as firefighters, who arrived on the scene moments later, managed to bring the blaze under control.

The Fire Official told iNews that it was a very chaotic scene to behold the eyes and said the origin or reason for the fire is yet to be determined.

The matter is engaging the attention of the Guyana Fire Service and the Guyana Police Force.
