A fire of so far unknown origin this afternoon destroyed a house located at Queenstown, Essequibo Coast, Region Two.
The house was occupied by a healthcare worker, 25-year-old Vanlisha Warrick and her seven-year-old son.
The woman told investigators that she secured her house at around 8:00hrs and headed to work.
In the afternoon at around 17:40hrs, she was at a nearby salon when she was alerted about the fire.
The woman’s sister-in-law, who lived in a separate house located on the same property, said she was heading out when she noticed smoke and fire coming from Warrick’s house.
The fire service responded and extinguished the fire but nothing was salvaged.
Investigations are ongoing.
