Untitled (1)[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Ministry of Education (MOE) says 15 schools in Georgetown will remain closed on Friday (November 29).

On Thursday (November 28) 43 schools remained closed while on Wednesday (November 27) all schools in Georgetown and its coastal environs were closed due to flash flooding.

The decision by the Ministry, to have the 15 schools remain closed, was made after checks by Ministry officials revealed that as a result of the very slow pace in the recession of the flood waters, no sanitation work could have commenced in order to make the schools habitable.

All other schools in Georgetown have been cleared for reopening by the Ministry of Education. The Ministry says it sincerely regrets any inconvenience caused.
