Police in C Division (East Coast Demerara) have arrested a male suspect who reportedly robbed several persons at knifepoint of their cellular phones on the East Coast Seawall recently whilst the victims were either exercising or having some relaxation.
According to the police, all of the stolen items have been recovered and a D’Urban Street, Lodge resident is also in custody for receiving the stolen property.
The robbery suspect was apprehended in Sophia as a result of diligent police investigating.
He is expected to be placed on several identification parades in connection with other crimes, before he makes his court appearance.
The suspect, police say, has served several prison terms for armed robberies in the past.
