Elderly woman killed; found with part of her tongue missing

murder_350_111412071506[www.inewsguyana.com] – Sixty – eight – year old Megon Jones died at the Georgetown Public Hospital on July 25, some three days after her battered body was found at the Vreed – en – Hoop Jetty area, West Coast Demerara.

iNews understands that the woman was found on July 22, 2015 and she remained unidentified until September 04, 2015 when her daughter showed up.

According to a police report, the elderly woman of Stanleytown, West Bank Demerara was found on the access road to the Vreed-en-Hoop Jetty area, with part of her tongue missing and other injuries to her body.

She was admitted to the GPHC where she subsequently succumbed on July 25, 2015. Following her identification, a Post Mortem Examination was conducted on Friday, September 04 by Pathologist Dr. Nehaul Singh who gave the cause of death as multiple injuries about the body and blunt trauma to the head.

A man has been arrested and is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
