The Department of Culture, Youth and Sport in the Ministry of Education hosted a simple ceremony this afternoon (Friday) to usher in Emancipation celebrations in Guyana. The event which was held in the compound of the Ministry’s Main Street office in Georgetown, saw a number of persons attending, including education officials and students from several schools.
