East La Penitence youth remanded for robbery underarms

DSC05214[www.inewsguyana.com] – Twenty – two – year old Quincy Nickles of Front Road, Squatting Area East La Penitence Georgetown appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman charged with robbery underarms.

Nickles pleaded not guilty to the charge which read that on September 19 at Freeman Street Georgetown, in the company of others attacked and robbed Timothy Marshall of several items totaling $73,000.

The Court heard that the virtual complainant was sitting under a shed at the corner of Cemetery Road and Freeman Street when the accused and his accomplice came from the opposite direction on a pedal cycle.

The allegations further stated that one of the men then pulled out a knife and snatched the complainant’s chain and demanded other valuables. After hearing the case, the Magistrate refused bail and Quincy Nickles was remanded to prison until October 11. [Royan Abrams]
