Several persons who were inside of the E-Networks building, located at Cornelia Ida (C.I), West Coast Demerara around noon today (Thursday) have been left traumatised after two gun-toting bandits held them at gun-point and robbed them of their cash and valuables.

Reports are that around 11:50hrs on Thursday, two men entered the E-Networks premises and indicated that they were there to pay bills.

However, within minutes they each whipped out a firearm, and ordered everyone inside of the building, inclusive of E-Networks staff and a security guard, to lay face-down on the floor.

The bandits then proceeded to rob persons of their cash, jewellery, and cellular phones.

INews understands that a cashier attached to E-Networks, Renita Hanoman, was robbed of her cellular phone along with GYD $100,000 – reportedly cash accumulated from the day’s transactions until the time of the robbery.

Meanwhile, security guard, Derrick Dublin, who was on duty at that time was robbed of his cellular phone, a gold chain and gold ring, GYD $40,000 and relieved of his glock pistol.

A goldsmith, identified as Deoraj Dasram from C.I, who was inside of the E-Networks building at the time of the incident, was robbed of his cellular phone and cash amounting to GYD $100,000.

INews was also told that a mechanic who was about to pay his bills at the facility was robbed of his cellular phone. Additionally, other victims were relieved of their cellular phones and cash.

Commander of “D” Division, Leslie James, told INews that the armed duo, after committing the robbery, exited the building and entered a blue Allion motorcar and made good their escape.

Ranks have processed the scene and are making diligent efforts to apprehend the suspects whose modus operandi is likened to that of yesterday’s robbery at the Company’s chain store at Mon Repos Mall, ECD.

Investigations into the matter are presently on-going.
