Durban Street resident busted with counterfeit money

moneyThirty – two – year old Seon Davis of Durban Street Lodge appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Beharry for possession of counterfeit notes. Davis pleaded not guilty to the charge.

It is alleged that on August 29 at Stabroek Market Georgetown, he had six counterfeit thousand dollar notes in his possession. According to police prosecutor, Bharrat Mangru; on the day of the incident ranks acting on information conducted a search on the accused during which they found the counterfeit money in his right pants pocket with other cash.

The prosecutor said the accused was told about the offence committed after which he was arrested and charged. Seon Davis was placed on $25,000 bail with his next court appearance on September 30. [Royan Abrams]
