Detainee escapes from GPHC

[] – A 21 – year – old man who was detained last week by police for having in his possession an unlicensed firearm escaped from the Georgetown Public Hospital early Monday morning (March 10).

Hospital officials identified the man as Delroy Brown of Waterloo Street, Georgetown and stated that the incident occurred at about 05:30hrs.

The details surrounding the circumstances of the escape are sketchy, however iNews understands that there might have been some amount of negligence on the part of the rank guarding the detainee.

Brown was nursing a gunshot wound to his leg on the Male Surgical Ward after being shot during his arrest by police on March 06.
