[www.inewsguyana.com] – Distance athlete Lionel D’Andrade fell short of a 2015 Trinidad and Tobago Half Marathon title when the event was held on Sunday, January 25.

The Trinidad based Guyanese clocked a time of one hour, 18mins and 26s to finish 11 seconds behind Trinidad’s Shayne Barran [one hour, 18mins and 15s]. Kade Sobes of Tobago was third in one hour, 22mins and 34s.

“I was in the lead and at the 12 mile mark, Shayne came from behind and we were running together and then at 600m he took the lead and I tried to take it back but I just couldn’t.

“I wasn’t really doing any speed work, just putting in the mileage. I feel kinda good, my time was slow, so I’ll be putting in some more training for upcoming races,” D’Andrade said.

Meanwhile, Trinidad based Guyanese Kelvin Johnson finished sixth in the Marathon.
