CUSO International – a Canadian volunteer group – today signed an agreement with Women Across Difference (WAD) to reduce gender discrimination through economic and social empowerment.

This initiative which stemmed out of a mutual expression of interest by both organizations will target teenage mothers.

The partnership will work to build the WAD’s capacity to roll out a teenage mothers program and development and/or implement other such initiatives.

The programme will also provide information to young mothers to help them reduce unplanned pregnancies, build self confidence and entrepreneurial knowledge and skills and enhance positive lifestyles.
