Cuban National shot in Regent St robbery

POLICE INVOLVED SHOOTING[www.inewsguyana.com] – A Cuban National is now nursing a gunshot wound to his chest after he was attacked during a brazen day light robbery on Sunday August 02, on Regent Street. 

According to a police report, at approximately 13:25 hrs on Sunday, 35-year-old Mirko Cardenos, was walking along Regent Street, Georgetown, when he was attacked by two men, one of whom was armed with a firearm. 

 Cardenas was shot to his chest and robbed of $9,000 by the perpetrators who escaped in a waiting motor car. 

 He has been admitted to hospital as the police investigations continue.

  1. The police seems to be making headway in a number of these crimes. I want to see the use of the CCTV become the element of fear for the bandits. Put their photos on tv and printed media
